Especially when you’re with a guide who will tell you all about the natural and archaeological features on the journey up to the top. Once you get there, you’ll really see why this place is so special. Away from the hustle and bustle of Cagliari, it offers you a space of quiet contemplation and complete relaxation!

Get panoramic views of the Gulf of Angels

The highlight of the hike to the Devil’s Saddle is the panoramic view that you get at the top. The Golfo dei Angeli (or Gulf of the Angels in English). This majestic part of the Tyrrhenian Sea is simply stunning. The views of Cagliari from 135 metres above sea level aren’t bad either. And you’ll get a bird’s eye view of not only one of the best beaches in Sardinia, but the whole of Italy – Poetto!

A hike to the Devil’s Saddle may not be the trickiest hike in the world, but you should still make sure that you’re prepared. If you’re visiting in summer, it’s a good idea to bring at least a litre of water to keep you hydrated. Also, a hat and suntan lotion are a good idea. You don’t want your memories of Sardinia to be when you were sick with sunstroke!
